Welcome to our blog! As Boston's leader in apartment rentals, we have our finger on the pulse of the local real estate market. Here, you'll find insight and announcements from our team to keep you up to date on everything you need to know about real estate in the Boston area.

Luxury Apartments Pop-up all over Boston

Brand new luxury apartments are popping up all over the city.  Over the next 3 years, these high-end developments will add 8,000 new rentals to the market!  The question is, are there enough people that can afford this style of living?

After all, as Curbed notes, “Boston’s population increased 3.1%, to more than 636,000, in 2010 to 2012. But clearly not all of those people can be wealthy.”

Ink Block Apartments are Starting to Move

The Ink Block apartments in Boston boast the tagline “Life, South End Style”.  We are not totally sure what that means, however the trendy apartments will offer a private entrance to a brand new Whole Foods Market as well as great views of the city.

According to Curbed, “Three of the six planned apartment buildings — aptly named Ink Block 1, Ink Block 2, and Ink Block 3, are slated to open in early 2015. What will the response be? Well, if sales of Sepia, the development underway to also open in 2015, are any indication, they’ll be good. Sepia is already 60% sold.”

Additional details are provided in the full Curbed article, after the jump.

Boston Apartments: Rent Declines with Distance to the T!

It’s no secret that “transit oriented” is the coveted phrase in new residential development.  The further you get from the T and public transportation, the less your Boston apartment rent will be on a monthly basis. This is quantified by Curbed, along with RentHop helping to visualize the relationship in a graph view:

Is it worth the extra money to get closer to the T?

Van Ness Apartments in Fenway: 172 Units Plus Target

It seems like apartments are still all the rage with developers in Boston!  Van Ness in The Fenway will also bring a Target to the area, sure to be a huge selling point for the building.

According to Curbed, “Van Ness will include 172 apartments as well as 30,000 square feet of retail. Said retail shall include downtown Boston’s first Target. Settle down. It will also include 232,000 square feet of office space, and will be LEED Gold certified (that means it’s very environmentally friendly).”

The Troy in Boston: South End Tower Gets Completion Date

Here’s another addition to the new residential construction: The Troy in Boston’s South End.

This booming neighborhood has seen tons of new projects over the past year or so.  Is the South End Boston’s new “it” area, or will the frenzy soon die down?

Top Dog Park in Boston? Curbed Selects Peters Park in the South End

For all you dog lovers out there, check out Peters Park in the South End.  It’s one of Curbed’s nominees for Top Dog Park in the Boston area.  The South End is also getting a lot of new construction, so check out the neighborhoods development projects if you plan on bringing man’s best friend with you to your new apartment!

Curbed Boston describes its selected winner:

“The off-leash dog park in this community hub in the South End was the most heavily nominated. Spacious, friendly and conveniently located at Shawmut Avenue and East Berkeley Street—what more could you ask for? Only possible drawback: Given that area’s current constructionpalooza, Peters Park could get a lot more crowded in the coming years.”
